Australia's men's archery team have fallen at the first hurdle at the Rio 2016 test event.

ARCHERY: Australia's men's archery team have fallen at the first hurdle at the Rio 2016 test event.

Taylor Worth, Ryan Tyack and Alec Potts could not overcome their more fancied Chinese rivals as they went down 6-0 in their first round encounter.

Worth was Australia's best performer scoring 55 out of a possible 60, with Potts scoring 53 and Tyack 52.

Australia had qualified for the final 16 as the 13th highest ranked team with a score 1941, 55 points off the top seeded Indian trio.

London 2012 Olympian Worth will continue his bid to win the individual event on Tuesday when he faces Korea's Ku Bonchan in the third round.

Worth dominated Viktor Ruban of Ukraine to win his first round match 6-0 before taking down Ecuador's Daniel Peneda 7-1 to progress.
