Four members of the NSWIS/SSA Mogul Program have achieved personal best results at the Europa Cup event in Chatel, France.

Difficult conditions greeted competitors for the single moguls on day one, with the steep course providing plenty of challenges.

Unfortunately, no Australian athletes qualified for finals on day one, Sam Hall was the best of the male competitors in 19th place, with David Graham 21st and Robert Lovick further back in 31st place. In her first ever Europa Cup event, Nicole Parks finished in 21st place, with Emma Chapman-Davies two places back in 23rd.

On day two, competitors were relieved to find that 30 cm of fresh snow had fallen overnight, making conditions much softer for the dual moguls event.

A number of Australians achieved personal best performances in qualifying, with Sam Hall and David Graham making their first ever Europa Cup finals, qualifying in eighth and 16th place respectively. Emma Champan-Davies qualified for the women’s final in fifth place, which was also a personal best.

In the final, both boys were unfortunately eliminated in the first round. Emma won her first dual, but was eliminated in her semi-final to finish in a personal best and team-leading fourth place.

The team now heads to Megeve, France, for a single and dual mogul event.
