Every Queensland secondary school is invited to nominate one student from either Year 10, 11 or 12 in 2005 as its Pierre de Coubertin recipient. Each recipient must have represented the school during Years 8 to 12 as a participant in at least three sports in the competitive sports arena.
Recipients are also required to submit an original literary, visual or musical work that illustrates their appreciation of the Olympic Movement. Nomination packages were sent to all schools.
Nominations close on Monday 30 May 2005.
The Pierre de Coubertin Awards will be presented to students by the Minister for Education and the Arts, Hon Anna Bligh MP at a special awards presentation ceremony to be held in Brisbane on 16 June 2005.
