Melissa Hoar and Emma Lincoln-Smith have tied for 11th place in a World Cup in Winterberg, Germany, echoing a Lincoln-Smith/Michelle Steele tie in last weekend's event in Cesana Pariol, Italy. The Olympic Winter Institute duo recorded a total time of two minutes and six hundredths of a second, 1.21 seconds behind race winner Katie Uhlaender of the United States. Steele, the leading Australian slider, finished in 14th place with a time of 2:00.77, 1.38 behind the winner.

It was best result of the season for Lincoln-Smith and the equal best of her career. The Sydney 21-year-old registered an eighth placing on her first run, less than half a second behind the fastest run time.

Steele, the leading Australian slider, finished in 14th place with a time of 2:00.77, 1.38 behind the winner.

Silver medal went to Anja Huber of Germany, with American Noelle Pikus-Pace picking up the bronze.

With one event remaining in the season, Steele is lying in seventh place on the World Cup standings on 311 points, 344 behind Uhlaender, the season stand-out with five wins from seven events.

Lincoln-Smith has moved up to 15th place on 209 points and Hoar is in 22nd place on 126 points after missing the first three events of the season.

The USA leads the teams' title chase on 398 points, 36 clear of Canada on 362. Germany lies in third position on 294 points.

Australia is fourth on 272 points, a remarkable performance given the limited experience of the team.
