MOGULS: Up and coming moguls skier Jakara Anthony is pushing to fulfil a life-long dream and qualify for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
At only 16 years of age, Anthony made her world cup debut at Deer Valley in January 2015, placing 33rd in the individual moguls event.
Two years on, the now 18-year-old recently recorded a personal best performance on the mountain where it all began.
She was one of only two Australian women - the other being the current world number one Britt Cox - to qualify for the women's moguls final at the Deer Valley World Cup in Utah last weekend, where she finished 13th with a personal best score of 72.26.
Her previous peronal best score came the weekend before at the Calgary World Cup, where she finished 11th in the women’s event.
Now a regular on the moguls world circuit, Anthony is starting to move through the ranks and is cementing herself as an 'athlete to watch'.
Anthony is one of 30 Australian athletes selected to compete at the Asian Winter Games in Sapporo, which kicks off next week and will be an invlauable expereince on her road to qualifying for PyeongChang.

1. Jakara was born in Cairns in North Queensland, where she lived for the first year of her life.
2. She has never attended a full year of school as she has always missed term 3 to go skiing in the Australian winter.
3.Jakara almost gave up on her skiing career when she was 10 years-old and nearly switched to snowboarding.
4. A multitalented sports woman, Jakara was the swimming and athletics female age champion in high school.
5. Even though she has been competing in snow sports from a very young age, Jakara’s home town is actually Barwon Heads which is a coastal town in Victoria. She loves the beach and has a knack for surfing.
6. One of Jakara’s secret talents is being able to solve a rubik’s cube
7. She has always really wanted a pet dog, but has had to settle for a giant stuffed toy dog because she is not at home enough to look after a real one.
