Western Australian Institute of Sport shooter Robyn Van Nus has become the sixth Western Australian to be officially announced as a member of the 2008 Australian Olympic Team, after Australian International Shooting finalised the team over the weekend.

Van Nus will make her Olympic debut after she was named as the shooter for the 50m rifle - 3 positions event in Beijing. The 25-year old missed out on a place at the Athens Olympics after finishing fourth in the selection trials but has performed well over the past 12 months, including winning the 2007 Oceania Championships in her pet event, to secure her ticket to the 2008 Games.

Van Nus is currently based in Melbourne at the Melbourne International Shooting Centre, where she is coached full time by her mother Tricia who was an international shooter herself in the early 1980s.
