All three members of the OWI team who competed in the short track World Cup in Harbin, China, have made top 18 placings in a good opening to the 2007/08 season.

Jeremy Beck was the best of the trio, finishing in 14th place in the second of two 1500m races, after earlier skating to 18th place in the 1000m.

Lachlan Hay also skated well throughout the meet, finishing in 19th place in the opening 1500m after being disqualified when he looked on track to make the final.

Debutante Alix-Myra Anderson made a very promising start to her World Cup career, making the semi final round in her second 1500m outing to finish in 15th place overall in a field of 34 skaters.

The OWI team now travels to Japan for next weekend's second round of the season.
