Skeleton duo to tackle Winterberg World Cup
Australia's skeleton duo, Jackie Narracott and John Farrow are gearing up for another major competition in their PyeongChang preparation, taking on the Winterberg World Cup in Germany.

SKELETON: Australia's skeleton duo, Jackie Narracott and John Farrow are gearing up for another major competition in their PyeongChang preparations, taking on the Winterberg World Cup in Germany.

The pair will take to the German track on Friday December 8 with Narracott racing at 10am local time (8pm AEDT) while will Farrow competes at 1:30pm (11:30pm AEDT).

For Sochi Olympian Farrow, Winterberg presents the opportunity to further improve on his start time after the 36-year-old recorded a personal best at the Park City World Cup event in late November.

"Winterberg is a known starters track and the start will be big part of a good performance here," said Farrow.

"The conditions also are usually rainy and changing so equipment is really important."

The Sydney-sider said focusing on these two elements will be key to a strong performance.

"Saying that the drive is also important but here its more relaxed and so you dont have alot of chances to make speed."

Jackie Narracott, who hopes to make her Olympic debut at the 2018 Winter Games said she tends to perform reasonably well at the Winterberg track, but that conditions are often testing.

"Last year we got screwed by the snow so whilst my run was actually quite good, the damage was done by the snow at the start. It’s a gliders track which means being precise while letting the sled run as much as possible," said Narracott who has been working on this skill over the past year.

"We’re kind of using training as a bit of test to see how much my feel has improved over the season so far and to keep tuning that in.

"I feel like it’s already shown me how much I’ve improved which is great."

The 26-year-old will also focus on her push start times, after also having recorded a career best in Park City.

"I’m trying to put a lesson I learnt over the break into practice in my push."

"It’s going to be another very tight race. Tiny mistakes will make all the difference. I’m confident it’ll be a good weekend."

Winterberg will be both Farrow and Narracott's last competition for 2017 before they return to the World Cup circuit in early January.
