The Olympic Winter Institute staged its 11th Black Cockatoo Ball on the opening weekend of the ski season, raising $29,750 to support Institute programs.

The event was hosted by Sydney 2000 Olympic diving bronze medallist Dean Pullar, while Torino bronze medallist Alisa Camplin was the guest speaker.

A number of Camplin's Torino 2006 team-mates were also on hand to host tables for the evening.

Doing their bit to support the fund-raining effort were alpine skiers Jono Brauer, Craig Branch and Brad Wall, aerial skier Liz Gardner, PGS snowboarder Johanna Shaw and snowboard cross rider Emily Thomas, moguls skiers Nick Fisher and Michael Robertson, figure skater Joanne Carter and short track skater Stephen Lee.

Nearly $300,000 has now been raised since the inception of the event.
