Podcast Tokyo Together - Caity Parker

Tokyo 2020 selected Boxer Caitlin Parker shares her journey from learning self defence as a kid to qualifying for her debut Olympic Games on the Tokyo Together podcast, presented by Optus.

The 25-year-old is a seven-time Australian Champion and is the only Australian to ever win a medal at both a Junior and Youth World Championships. In 2014 she competed at the Youth Olympic Games held in Nanjing, China where she won the bronze medal in the 75kg category.  Four years later she won silver at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

During her chat with Aussie Olympian and commentator David Culbert, Parker shares her reaction when she found out the Tokyo Games were postponed and how she navigated the lockdowns and uncertainties of 2020.

With mentors such as Olympian and professional boxer Danny Green and cricket legend Adam Gilchrist sharing their wisdom and advice, Parker’s goal for Tokyo 2020 is to win Australia’s first Olympic boxing gold medal.
