SOCHI 2014: After 121 days on the road, the Olympic Torch will tomorrow (Wednesday) arrive in Sochi.
14,000 Torchbearers have taken the Torch on a record-breaking 65,000km journey across Russia – the longest in Olympic history.
Earlier this week the torch reached new heights, when it made it to the top of Mt Elbrus, the highest point in Europe.
The relay has also been to the North Pole, Siberia’s Lake Baikal – the world’s deepest and oldest lake – and even the International Space Station.
The flame will finish its epic journey at the Opening Ceremony on Friday night, when the cauldron outside the Games’ main Fisht Stadium is lit.
Organisers are keeping tight-lipped about the identity of who will be given the honour, but local media are speculating it will be a former figure skater or ice hockey player from the host nation.
