Tyack and Ingley take Australian Open archery titles

Queensland’s Ryan Tyack and Western Australia’s Alice Ingley have won the Australian Open Archery titles in Brisbane.

ARCHERY: Queensland’s Ryan Tyack and Western Australia’s Alice Ingley have won the Australian Open Archery titles in Brisbane, also part of the Olympic qualification process.

Tyack, the 2014 World Indoor champion, beat 2012 Olympian Taylor Worth in the men’s recurve final, while Ingley beat Queensland’s Ella Byrne in the women’s final.

Three-time Olympian Matt Gray won the bronze medal, an important result in the race for Olympic selection.

Gray, Tyack, Worth and Victorian Alec Potts are fighting for the three Olympic spots earned by Australia at last year’s World Championships.

Potts finished fifth in Brisbane on Sunday, with several qualifying events still to come.
