The medical team based at the Stewart Rehabilitation Centre in Ogden, Utah, is ready for the arrival of the Australian athletes into the Utah area for the 08-09 winter season.
The Aerial Skiing development squad based in Snowbasin, Utah, will have the benefit of expert medical attention, from a number of different providers including; medical specialists, physicians, general practitioners, trainers and therapists.
During the season, the medical team will also service the OWI/AIS World Cup teams in Aerial Skiing, Mogul Skiing, Ski Cross, Short Track Speed Skating and Skeleton during competition in the Utah area.
The Olympic Winter Institute of Australia, Chief Executive Officer Geoff Lipshut commented on the medical team as the Aerial Skiing athletes departed for the winter ahead:
“Our scholarship athletes are very fortunate to have such a broad range of medical services available to them while in Utah. Our experiences in previous years has been that the team at the Stewart Rehabilitation Centre are fantastic with the athletes and all involved have great experience in managing the treatment of elite athletes. As an organisation we are extremely appreciative of this arrangement and the efforts made by everyone involved to assist Australian athletes.”
