After placing third in the short program, the 15-year-old Brisbane skater delivered her best free program to date, an error-free performance with excellent expression.

Sydney skater Cheltzie Lee, aged just 13, shook off the nerves of her short program to make two triples and an excellent double axel on her way to sixth place.

The women's gold went to Japanese skater Yuka Ishikawa on 123.44 points.

Her team-mate Nanoha Sato collected the silver with 109.35 points and Wang earned 110.49 from the judges for her third place.

In the men's event, Australia's Nicholas Fernadez recovered from a sluggish short program to produce his best free outing to date to finish in seventh place, winning the opportunity to represent Australia at the Junior World Championships.

In a commanding display of skating, the men's gold went to Junlin Guan of China on 161.37 points, more than 15 points ahead of Akio Sasaki of Japan on 145.83 and Yukihiro Yoshida, also of Japan, on 135.64 points.
