There was no rest for your Aussie athletes over the weekend, claiming a multitude of medals in the pool, on the bike track and a Rio Olympian being crowned "The Fittest Woman on Earth" for the third-time running.
BMX rider Logan Martin claimed two gold medals at the 2019 Summer X Games in Minneapolis, Minnesota, increasing his hopes of making the Australian Team for the sport’s debut at Tokyo 2020.
It was in BMX Park that Martin scored his first gold before the new dad also finished on top of the podium in BMX Dirt. The double is one of three X Games gold medals Martin has collected, with seven in total.
Fellow Aussie Brandon Loupos also competed in the BMX Dirt event, claiming silver behind his teammate.
Cyclist Lucy Kennedy kept the wheels turning, becoming the women’s Clasica San Sebastian’s first winner, in Spain.
She overcame a puncture and mechanical problems which resulted in a one-minute deficit only to storm home and win the last stage of the inaugural competition.
At the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, Anthony Dean placed in the top ten, taking out sixth position in the finals. The brother-sister duo of Kai and Saya Sakakibara also claimed a top-ten spot, ending the competition in ninth and seventh respectively.
Rio Olympian Tia Toomey cemented her place as “The Fittest Woman on Earth”, taking out her third consecutive CrossFit Games title.
Toomey held onto her lead throughout the competition, becoming the first woman in history to win three CrossFit Games.

Australia also dominated in the pool, collecting 17 medals at the 2019 FINA Swimming World Cup in Tokyo.
Triple-Olympian Emily Seebohm impressed, claiming the golden trifecta across the Women’s 50m, 100m and 200m Backstroke, while Cam McEvoy, Thomas Fraser-Holmes, Madison Wilson and Cate Campbell took out the Mixed 4x100m Freestyle Relay, setting a new World Cup record of 3:24.89 in the process.
Mitch Larkin, James Boyd McKechnie, Brianna Throssell and Campbell also teamed up for the Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay where they finished second behind Japan.
Campbell and Larkin went on to win gold in the Women’s 50m and 100m Freestyle and Men’s 100m and 200m Backstroke respectively, while Dolphins teammate Kiah Melverton topped the podium in the Women’s 400m and 800m Freestyle.
Holly Barratt also added an Aussie gold, taking out the Women’s 50m Butterfly while Throssell and Madison Wilson took out gold and silver in the Women’s 200m Freestyle. Throssell also added a bronze to her name in the Women’s 100m Butterfly.
Larkin and Fraser-Holmes claimed first and second place respectively in the Men’s 200m Medley.
