GOLF: Bankstown teenager Kevin Yuan clinched the men’s gold medal with a three stroke win at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival golf tournament at Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club near Penrith.

GOLF: Bankstown teenager Kevin Yuan clinched the men’s gold medal with a three stroke win at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival golf tournament at Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club near Penrith.

Yuan finished the tournament with rounds of 69-68-64-69 to be at 18-under par for the tournament.

“It has been a great experience being part of the Australian team. I’m very excited to have won a gold medal and hope that it isn’t my last,” Yuan said.

Great Britain’s Ashton Turner finished with silver after a final round 5-under par 67.

New Zealand’s Compton Pikari received bronze at 13-under par, two strokes ahead of Great Britain’s Bradley Neil in fourth.

Australian Brett Coletta finished in a tie for sixth while fellow Australian David Micheluzzi finished in a tie for 13th place.

In the women’s competition, Great Britain’s Georgia Hall sealed the gold medal with a 1-under par 71 to finish at 6-under, two strokes clear of Australian Celina Yuan at 4-under par, who won silver.

“It’s one of my best achievements and I’ve had a great experience,” Hall said.

“It’s lovely to be with a team and couldn’t be happier with two gold medals. Over the week I played really well.”

Great Britain's Chloe Williams also earned a place on the dais, winning bronze.

Amy Walsh was the next best Australian, finishing in a tie for 13th.

Great Britain took out the team event.
