Salt Lake 2002 Olympian Stephanie Zhang won the ladies figure skating event at the Hollins Trophy in Sydney over the weekend.

Zhang, who has taken an extended break from competition since the 2002 Games, won from Queensland skater Vashti Lonsdale and fellow Sydney Figure Skating Club member Lauren Winsborrow.

The men’s honours went to national junior champion Sean Carlow from Stuart Beckingham.

The Hollins Trophy is an interstate event which has been held for the past 29 years, the most prestigious event on the Australian figure skating calendar outside the Nationals. One hundred and seventy competitors took part from around Australia and from New Zealand.
