David started his sporting career as a cross-country skier, however, as soon as he could get a permit to shoot, he swapped to Biathlon.

While he finds it hard to train for his sport, with the closest Biathlon range being 11 hours away, this has not stopped him from becoming a top junior Biathlete.

At the 2019 Victorian Biathlon Championships, David won a double gold in the U17 sprint and individual events. He also achieved a top 4 finish at the 2019 Australian Biathlon Championships in the U17 individual race.
