Advocacy

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) takes on a leading role, in partnership with other sporting bodies, to ensure that sport can play a leading role in shaping Australia’s health and wellbeing as well as contributing to the country’s economic development.

The AOC is committed to using sport as a platform to power positive social change within Australian communities, working with the Federal Government on new investment models to help deliver its objectives under the National Sports Plan.

Sport – Powering Australia’s Future (10+10)

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) is advocating for a new investment model which will empower Australian sport to deliver on the Federal Government’s objectives under the National Sports Plan – Sport 2030.

In a joint submission with Commonwealth Games Australia (CGA) and member sports, the AOC has outlined how better investment in sport will enhance Australia’s physical and mental health, build community cohesion as well as provide direct economic, productivity and volunteering benefits.

Sport – Powering Australia’s Future (10+10) presents the case for sports’ contribution to Australia, particularly using the opportunity of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games – the decade before and the decade after (10+10) – to power Australia’s future.
