Lisa's Story
Lisa Campbell (née Bryant) is a former Australian badminton player who represented Australia at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Born in Frankston, Victoria, on 1 May 1968, she was one of Australia's leading badminton athletes throughout the late 1980s and 1990s.
Campbell competed in both the women's singles and mixed doubles events at the Atlanta Olympics. Her Olympic selection followed years of international success, including appearances at World Championships, Uber Cup competitions and Commonwealth Games.
Her greatest achievement came at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Canada, where she captured the women's singles gold medal, becoming the first Australian to win an individual Commonwealth Games badminton gold medal. She also helped Australia secure a bronze medal in the mixed team event.
