MOGULS: Up and coming mogul skier Sophie Ash was a member of the 30-strong Australian team that debuted at the 8th Asian Winter Games in Sapporo, February 2017, where she finished fifth in the ladies’ moguls event and seventh in the dual moguls.
The 21-year-old has featured on the North-American Cup circuit since early 2014 with her best result a fifth-place finish at the Canada Olympic Park event in February 2016.
After finishing the 2016/17 Nor-Am season ranked 14th on the circuit, Ash is working towards an Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018. Here are five fun facts you didn’t know about the multi-talented mogul skier.
1. When I was younger I did a lot of acrobatic sports: Gymnastics, Trampoline, Diving and even Circus Arts. Ultimately, I had to choose between Trampolining and Skiing. I have a trampoline in the backyard for when I feel nostalgic.

2. As well as the acrobatic sports, I was also an Alpine skier - I raced for Australia in the Whistler Cup in 2011 (I don't miss that race suit though).
3. My other passion in life is drawing - I'm currently studying Animation at the University of Melbourne alongside training and work. I also run the @sketchymoguls Instagram account - go check it out!

4. I’ve had the nickname Sash for as long as I can remember!
5. When I was 5, my family and I travelled around the world. We lived in Toronto, Canada for a year or so and I became fluent in French Canadian! Sadly I’ve forgotten it all!
