AIS/VIS Aerial Skier David Morris has missed the finals cut for the first time this World Cup season, finishing in 15th place at the World Cup aerials event in Mont Gabriel, Canada.

Morris performed a double full full full (a quad twisting triple back somersault) for the first time in competition. AIS Aerial Skiing Head Coach commented after the event: “We are pretty happy with how Dave performed the new trick for the first time. Everything was solid and looked pretty good, he was just out of finals and very close.”

The event was won by Belarus aerialist Anton Kushnir with China’s Guangpu Qi in second and Ukraine’s Stanislav Kravchuk in third.

In the women’s event rookie AIS/VIS skier Laura Peel made an impressive World Cup debut by finishing 15th with a score of 70.03 points for a lay full (single twist double back somersault).

The event was won by China’s Mengtao Xu, with Belarus’ Alla Tsuper and China’s Shuang Cheng in second and third.
