Jo Shaw has ridden to another top 20 World Cup result, finishing in 18th place in parallel giant slalom in Furano, Japan. Shaw was off the pace in the opening qualification round, finishing in 25th place with a time of 48.46 seconds, 3.41 seconds behind first round leader Amelie Kober of Germany. The 24-year-old Ski and Snowboard Australia rider fought back in the second qualifier, placing 11th but finishing two places outside the 16-woman head-to-head final rounds in 18th place.

Isabella Dal Balcon of Italy won her way through to the gold medal, defeating Switzerland's Fraenzi Kohli in the final.

Alexandra Jekova of Bulgaria took the bronze.

Austrian Heidi Neururer continues to lead the World Cup title chase on 5140 points from team-mate Doresia Krings on 5080.

Shaw is in 32nd place on 548.2 points.

The final PGS event of the season will be held in Sungwoo, South Korea, on Sunday February 25.
