DIVING: An ear infection will not stop London Olympic silver medallist Brittany Broben from making a noise on the international diving circuit ahead of the world titles selection trials in Brisbane.

DIVING: An ear infection will not stop London Olympic silver medallist Brittany Broben from making a noise on the international diving circuit ahead of the world titles selection trials in Brisbane.

As Melissa Wu battles a back complaint ahead of the three-day trials starting in Brisbane on May 31, Broben has vowed not to let her ailment rob her of building momentum on the World Series circuit.

Broben, 17, has finished just outside the medals in this year's opening World Series events in Beijing and Dubai but is happy with her form ahead of the latest three-day meet starting in Edinburgh on Friday.

"My score in Dubai was actually better than my score in London," Broben said.

"Some of my dive scores have been pretty good. I've really been enjoying the competition."

The Gold Coast student has been largely faithful with the routine that earned her a shock 10m platform silver medal in London.

But Broben said she was considering adding a new dive to her repertoire.

"At the moment, the dive I start with has a low difficulty rating," she said.

"It doesn't really matter but it often means I'm starting a bit behind the other girls."

Broben said her main focus was clinching a spot on the Australian team for the 2013 world championships to be held in Barcelona from July 19.

She said she had "unfinished business" at the world titles after failing to clinch a top 10 spot in either the 1m or 10m events at the championships held in Shanghai two years ago.

Jaele Patrick - a 3m springboard specialist - and 10m synchro pair Emily Boyd and Lara Tarvit will also compete in Edinburgh this week.

Beijing Olympic silver medallist Wu will miss both the upcoming Edinburgh and Moscow World Series events as she battles to overcome back problems.

But the 20-year-old remains confident she will compete at the world titles trials in Brisbane.
