The Australian Men's Water Polo team have bounced back to defeat Brazil 13-9 in game two of the FINA World League Intercontinental Tournament in Japan.

WATER POLO: The Australian Men's Water Polo team have bounced back to defeat Brazil 13-9 in game two of the FINA World League Intercontinental Tournament in Japan.

The win provides the team with a strong boost ahead of the Rio Olympic Games where they'll face the host nation Brazil in the opening match.

Australian Men’s Head Coach Elvis was pleased with his team’s turn around after the defeat to the USA in game one.

“It was a good game from the beginning - we were more aggressive then we were yesterday.

“There was a huge difference compared from yesterday. We still have a lot of space for improvement but I’m happy with how we played and hopefully we’ll keep playing at that same level,” said Fatovic.

Young gun Mitch Emery was able to net three goals against what he admitted was a tough Brazilian team.

“They are pretty physical, they are a good team and they work well. They will be tough to be come Rio,” said Emery.

The World League Intercontinental Tournament is a qualifier for the Aussies for the World League Super Final. The Aussies need to finish in the top four to book their spot in the final.

Competition continues today with Australia set to face hosts Japan.
