Australian archer Taylor Worth is confident the men's national team can pull off a top-eight finish at the world championships in Denmark and snap up three spots at next year's Olympics.

ARCHERY: Australian archer Taylor Worth is confident the men's national team can pull off a top-eight finish at the world championships in Denmark and snap up three spots at next year's Olympics.

The London 2012 Olympian joined Alec Potts and Ryan Tyack in Copenhagen on Sunday in a bid to book their Rio berth, and he's backing them against a field of 72 team entries.

"To rank top 16 and to win out first match to get top eight, it's going to be a tall order," Worth said.

"But I definitely think we can do it. We've been shooting some scores that have been very competitive internationally.

"We've just got to keep that momentum going for the next couple of weeks."

Worth has proven himself under pressure, having qualified for the 2012 Olympics, while Tyack is the reigning world indoor champion.

Potts is the new face, having seen off three-time Olympian Matt Gray in the race for the third spot on the world championship team.

The women's team is led by two-time Olympian veteran Deonne Bridger, who will compete alongside Queensland newcomers Semra Lingard and Ingrid Brookshaw.

Lingard is the form archer of the trio, having won the Australian title earlier this year.

She also put in an impressive performance at a World Cup event in Shanghai to shoot a personal best and rank in the top 20 at an international tournament for the first time.

"I'm feeling pretty good about it all, but it doesn't calm the nerves, especially as it's my first world championships" she said.

Canberra's in-form Lou Redman will contest the women's non-Olympic compound event, while former world No.2 Pat Coghlan is a realistic chance of a medal in the men's.
