Bear was in 51st place, 3.86 seconds off the winning time, with Branch two places further back.
Marco Buechel of Liechtenstein took the silver, with Michael Walchhofer of Austria collecting bronze, his fourth for the season.
In the giant slalom, the second World Cup of his career, Luke Deane finished in 59th place in the first run, 3.10 seconds behind first run leader Hermann Maier. World Cup overall leader Bode Miller of the US went on to win the race.
And in Sestriere, Jono Brauer placed 58th in the first run of the slalom, 3.72 seconds behind the fastest first run time set, yet again, by Miller.
The American went on to take the gold medal, becoming only the second man in history to win across all four disciplines in the same season.
