ARCHERY: London 2012 Olympian Taylor Worth was Australia's highest ranked archer after the qualification rounds at the Rio 2016 test event.
Worth progressed with a score of 658, 32 points off Korean ace Kim Woojin, to sit in 21st. He will now face Ukraine's Viktor Ruban who finished 44th in the qualification round.
Ryan Tyack qualified 32nd with a score of 652 while Alec Potts was back in 54th with 631. Tyack's first round opponent is Finland's Antti Tekoniemi while Potts will have a tough task against 11th ranked Indian Jayanta Talukdar.
The Aussie men then teamed up to qualify 13th out of 16 in the teams event with a score of 1941. Their first round opponents will be China who scored 1986 to rank fourth in qualification.
Australia's sole female representative Semra Lingard finished qualification in 45th with a score of 616 and will take on Italy's Guendalina Sartori in her first round encounter.
Worth, Tyack and Potts qualified three quota places for Australia for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games after finishing as one of the top eight teams at the 2015 World Archery Championships.
While Australia's female archers were unable to qualify an individual or team at the World Championships, an Australian female can still qualify through the Oceania Continental Qualification Tournament. This tournament's details have yet to be finalised.
