The Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC), together with the Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA), yesterday announced the results of the basketball draw for the Youth Olympic Games.

FIBA's Event Delegate and Sports Director, Mr Lubomir Kotleba conducted the Basketball draw. Mr Goh Kee Nguan, Chief Executive Officer of SYOGOC drew the groupings of participating NOCs, and Dr Tan drew the number for each participating NOC.

Australia will compete in women's basketball, which will take a three-on-three format during the Games. There are 20 teams competing for the medals, and Australia has drawn Group D alongside Japan, France, Italy and Chile.

Australia will start their campaign on Sunday 15 August with their preliminary match against Chile. Basketball will be held at the city's hippest venue - *scape Youth Space.
