Australian skier Anna Segal has her eye on an even bigger prize after winning gold at the freestyle world championships in the USA.
Segal took top spot in the slopestyle event at Park City Mountain and is hoping for a chance to win gold at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
In slopestyle, athletes complete two runs down a ski course filled with a variety of rails and jumps and perform acrobatic spins.
The competitors are judged on their ability to perform challenging tricks with the most style and height. Segal joined Alex Pullin (snowboard cross), Holly Crawford and Nathan Johnstone (both snowboard halfpipe) as newly crowned Australian World Champions.
Russ Henshaw, 20, also won bronze in the men's event. Slopestyle is new to the FIS freestyle ski world championship program having developed a cult following throughout the North American and European X Games.
A decision on whether to include slopestyle at the Sochi Games in Russia will be made by the IOC in April.
The IOC is weighing whether to include several new events: slopestyle skiing, slopestyle snowboarding, halfpipe skiing, women's ski jumping, a luge team relay, biathlon mixed relay, and team events for figure skating and Alpine skiing.
Olympic gold medallist Shaun White, an icon in snowboard halfpipe, already has indicated he would consider slopestyle if it's added to the Sochi Games.
