Back on Snow: Anna Segal's Blog

BLOG: My three weeks in Oregon flew by. The weather was great, I was back on my skis and surrounded by friends. My knee hurt a little more than expected, but I gradually figured out when I could push it and when it was better to hold back.

Anna Segal is a skier from Melbourne aiming to compete in the new ski-slopestyle event at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games. After suffering a torn meniscus, and enduring a long road trip across the States, Segal talks about getting back on snow in America.

Summer skiing usually means finishing on the hill by around 2pm. This leaves heaps of time for extra-curricular activities. Bend is one of the best places in the world for this. The whole town was a buzz with people being active and we felt obliged to join in.

There were the Wednesday afternoon farmers markets, floating the Deschutes River and op-shopping!

It was an amazing feeling to be back on snow, but the three weeks went far too quickly. What I’m looking forward to now is getting back to Australia for the southern hemi winter.
