Jeremy Beck has made his third final in two World Cup events, finishing in 17th place in the 1500m event in the second round of the season In Kobe, Japan.

Jeremy Beck has made his third final in two World Cup events, finishing in 17th place in the 1500m event in the second round of the season In Kobe, Japan.

Beck, 23,  from Brisbane, came in second in his opening heat behind Michael Gildy of Canada.

He was disqualified in his semi-final round, but ended the event in 17th overall, his third top 18 placing in the opening two events.

OWI team-mate Lachlan Hay finished in sixth place in his opening heat, but fought his way through the repechage heats, quarters and semis to win a place in the repechage final, contending for a place back in the main finals field.

He finished in third place in the repechage final, missing a place in the final, but securing 19th place overall, two spots behind Beck.
