OWI team members Dale Begg-Smith and Nick Fisher shared the gold medal honours at the double header Australian Freestyle Moguls Championships in Perisher Blue last weekend.

Begg-Smith won the first event from Japan’s Kai Ozaki, with Canadian Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau in second place.

But Fisher took the gold in the second event, relegating Begg-Smith to silver. Ozaki made the podium again for bronze.

The two events, held on the ‘Toppa’s Dream’ mogul course, attracted the strongest field seen in an Australian mogul event since 1998.

Japanese skier Aiko Uemura of Japan took out the first of the women’s events, with world number one Jen Heil of Canada victorious in the second event.

Athletes will head to Mt Buller on Saturday 27th for the 17th ABOM Mogul Challenge at Mt Buller.
