Athens Olympics fourth placegetter Greg Bennett led a 1-2-3 Australian sweep of the Los Angeles Triathlon on the weekend as compatriot Emma Snowsill won the women's race.
Bennett finished in 1hr 47min 12sec to win the Olympic distance race composed of a 1500m ocean swim off Venice Beach, a 40km bike ride through Hollywood and a 10km run ending downtown.
It was the third best time in the event's seven editions.
Craig Alexander, who won the Los Angeles Triathlon in 2004, finished second in 1:48:26, followed by Stephen Hackett in 1:49:44.
Snowsill, who won her third world title last week, took the women's competition easily in 1:57:23, beating American Mary Beth Ellis (2:06:54).
Bennett left the water in sixth place and powered through the bike segment to take the lead for the run downtown.
"I've worked hard on my bike this year, and I'm really confident with it," Bennett said after the race.
"The hills are my strength, and the second half of the ... bike course is very hilly. It was an advantage for me, and with a minute lead it was easier to remain relaxed all the way to the finish line."
Bennett and Snowsill each won $US10,000 ($A13,200) and an automatic berth to the LifeTime Fitness Triathlon Series Championship, which will feature a $US500,000 ($A660,000) purse.
Meanwhile, fellow Australian Brad Kahlefeldt has regained his world No.1 ranking from American Hunter Kemper by placing third in Hamburg.
Kahlefeldt recovered from the cramps which cost him an inaugural world title a week ago to make his fifth World Cup podium for the year.
Spain's Javier Gomez came up with one of the fastest runs of his career to claim the World Cup victory from Athens bronze medallist Sven Riederer of Switzerland.
