Tatiana Borodulina has finished in seventh place in the 1500m at the opening of the 2008 World Cup short track season in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Borodulina finished in third place in her opening heat, qualifying through to the semi-final round on her time. In the semis she was again in third place, missing a place in the A final, but qualifying for the B final which she went on to win.
The 23-year-old Brisbane skater also won her opening heat of the 500m, winning a aplac in the quarter final round due to be skated Monday morning AEDT.
Borodulina’s OWI team-mate Alix-Myra Anderson finished in third place in her opening heat of the 1000m, then won her way through the opening repechage heat before being eliminated, finishing in 29th place overall.
In the men’s events, Elliott Shriane finished in 14th place in the 1000m, a personal best result for the Brisbane 21-year-old.
Shriane finished in third place in his preliminary round, then second in his heat, before bowing out in the quarter finals.
In other results of completed events, Jeremy Beck was 38th in the 1500m.
