Downhiller Craig Branch has been sidelined from competiition for the past few weeks, a source of great frrustration to the 31-year-old AIS skier.
Craig reports on his current plans:.
"As you may or may not know, I stretched/strained my groin (upper adductor into my lower stomach muscles) just over two weeks ago at a Europa Cup Downhill in Wengen, Switzerland."
"Initially I thought I may be able to race the World Cup the following weekend in Wengen but there was no chance. It also ruled me out of the Kitzbuhel World Cups the weekend after that and I have just decided I won’t be racing the World Cup this weekend in Garmisch, Germany."
"I would rather sacrifice one race this week in the hope that it will be a lot better for the World Champiomships next week and the remainder of the season, as I have quite a few races planned."
"Obviously it’s very disappointing to sit on the sideline again and watch a bunch of races pass me by, considering I had already missed four World Cups at the start of the season due to my back problems. I guess when it rains it pours."
