Jono Brauer has finished top ten in a FIS slalom race in Westendorf, Austria in a warm-up for the Kitzbuhel slalom, but was unfortunately unable to carry that form over to the World Cup event, failing to finish the first run.
The OWI skier paced ninth in a total time of 1:38.71 seconds, 2.35 seconds behind race winner Kalle Palander of Finland, the defending World Cup slalom champion and 1999 World champion.
Six other top twenty World Cup skiers were also in the FIS race field, including current number 2, Rainer Schoenfelder who finished second.
The result gave Brauer 22.90 FIS points. Another World Cup slalom is scheduled for tonight, Tuesday 27th, in Schladming.
