Torah Bright has collected her third US Open halfpipe snowboarding title, coming from behind to defeat 2002 Salt Lake Olympic champion Kelly Clark in the last of her three runs down the Stratton Mountain pipe.

Bright reeled off the run of the day for 96.0 points to outscore Clark’s opening run score of 93.3.

Along the way, the 22-year-old NSWIS rider also collected the women’s best trick award for her switch backside 720.

As well as that trick, her final run featured a Cab 720 indy, followed by a crippler, backside 360 indy, and a backside 540.

Trying to top Bright, Clark fell on her last run, allowing the Australian to draw level on the number of US titles they have each collected.

“I feel great,” said Bright.

“I didn’t realize that I tied with Kelly for the most wins. It feels really good, especially because the US Open is such a special event.”

“As a rider, I’m happy I’m consistent at these contests.”
