The 20-year-old Torino 2006 team member finished third in the final event of the series, the US Open Snowboarding Championships, behind Salt Lake 2002 gold medallist Kelly Clark of the United States and her compatriot Gretchen Bleiler, the Torino 2006 silver medallist.

The result was enough to give Bright the overall title and the monster cheque.

She added a second placing in slopestyle – collecting the car as the best woman rider of the meet –  and added another US$5000 for winning the best trick award.

The men's US title and the overall series win went to Torino 2006 gold medallist Shaun White.
