Natalie Buck and Trent Nelson-Bond will finish the 2005 World Figure Skating Championships in 28th place, after competing in the original dance section of the ice dancing competition.

Natalie Buck and Trent Nelson-Bond will finish the 2005 World Figure Skating Championships in 28th place, after competing in the original dance section of the ice dancing competition.

The Australian duo scored 32.85 points on their performance, a personal best score, but needed to finish in the top 24 to go on to the final leg of the competition, the free dance.

Buck and Nelson-Bond had scored 21.85 for their compulsory dance performance two days earlier.

Russian pair Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov lead the competition going into the free dance from Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto of the United States. Ukrainian pair Elena Grushina and Ruslan Goncharov are in third place.
