TEAM: Bushman is proud to be the official insect repellent supplier for the 2016 Australian Olympic team as it pursues the ultimate sporting success in Brazil this year.
As an Australian developed and operated company Bushman is thrilled to be on board with the Australian Olympic team and will be providing its very best products to help protect the athletes against a number of mosquito-borne diseases that are commonly found in Brazil.
Bushman Managing Director Andrew Raper said it was a watershed moment for the company to have the Australian Olympic Committee seek its help to protect the nation’s best athletes in Rio de Janeiro.
“We wish all the Australian athletes every success as they take on the best in the world during this prestigious event, and we are proud that our support will help keep them safe,” he said.
“At Bushman, we pride ourselves on producing the best products to provide the right level of protection for people against blood-seeking and disease-carrying insects.
“Being asked to provide that for Australia’s Olympic athletes is not only an honour, but a wonderful endorsement of our products and our company.”
Mr Raper said Bushman, which was founded in 1992, had recently built a new manufacturing facility in Melbourne where it plans to continue manufacturing the Australian made repellents for the world market.
“We have focused our time and energy on producing the best products and, as a result, have mainly relied on word of mouth to promote them, so this endorsement from such a respected body makes it all worthwhile,” he said.
Chef de Mission of the 2016 Australian Olympic Team, Kitty Chiller said, “It is very exciting to have Bushman on board for Rio – not only as one of our many fantastic supporters of the Team but to also be able to provide all Team members with a product that will help keep mosquito borne diseases at bay. With the current concerns about the Zika, and other similar diseases in South America, this partnership is both timely and beneficial to all athletes.”
