Jo Carter has finished in 20th place at the World Figure Skating Championships in Tokyo over the weekend.
Carter scored a total of 127.17 points, finishing in 19th place in the short program and 21st in the free program.
In a quinella for Japan, Miki Ando took the gold medal with 195.09 points ahead of compatriot Mao Asada on 194.45 points.
Ando placed second in both the short program and the free program in a very consistent performance, while Asada won the free program to climb to the silver from fifth place after the short program.
The bronze medal went to Yu-na Kim of South Korea on 186.14 points.
Carter was "pretty happy overall" with her performance at the competition.
"I didn't know what to expect with the new qualifying, and it was going be tough," she said.
"I'm happy with how things went and it was great to see the other girls and what they're doing too."
"I felt like I dealt with the whole thing better than usual and I was happy about that too."
"Practice sessions were good all week and the programs reflected that somewhat."
"I learnt a heap. I'm happy with the levels I got and I know where to improve."
Earlier in the week, Sean Carlow had finished in 28th place in the men's event.
Australia did not have any competitors in the pairs or ice dancing.
