Jo Carter's recovery from the ankle injury that ruled her out of the Skate America and Skate Canada Grand Prix events is almost complete, and the dual Olympian is now training for the Four Continents competition in Colorado Springs from February 5-12.
"The recovery is on track,” Carter said. "It has not been bothering me too much since the New Year."
"Four Continents is my next competition and after that there are the World Championships in Tokyo in March."
"The choreography component of my plan has been put on hold until next season when I'm hoping to travel and get a new short program with Lori (Lori Nichol, world-renowned choreographer who was going to work with Carter following the Grand Prix events late last year)."
"We will sit down after worlds and confirm when the best time will be for me to pursue that."
"At this stage I'm focusing on what's left of the season. As you can imagine i was so disappointed having to withdraw from the Grand Prix events, but I think it was the best decision as my ankle was not coping well with the loading at that stage."
