New South Wales skiers Will Clifford and Brenton Fetterplace will launch Australian competition at the 2007 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships tonight, skiing in the super G.
The two Thredbo skiers are part of a five-member Ski and Snowboard Australia team which also includes ACT brothers Bryce Stevens and Hugh Stevens, and Swiss-based Demian Franzen.
In addition to the super G, all five will contest the slalom and giant slalom events at the championships, being held in Are, Sweden.
While Franzen has the experience of the 2005 world championships behind him, the other four will be competing in their first world titles.
The Championships run through to February 18, with the keys dates for Australia as follows:
Feb 5 - Men's super G
Feb 14 - Men's giant slalom
Feb 17 Men's slalom
We wish all five skiers the best of luck.
