The Australian Men's Curling Team has headed to Europe to compete in the Oslo Cup following a ten-day training camp in New Zealand.

The team of Hugh Millikin, Ian Palangio, Sean Hall, Steve Johns and Steve Hewitt were located in Naseby, training alongside the New Zealand national team.

At the end of the trip, the team participated in the Philip Wareing Transport Open Doubles Tournament, with eleven teams competing over three days.

With nearly all the New Zealand men's and women's national representatives taking part, it was a strong competition.

Steve Johns took out the final with John Thierault, with Hugh Millikin and Ian Palangio taking third place behind New Zealand pair Sean and Bridget Becker.

Steve Hewitt reports that the team came away from the New Zealand trip in a very positive mood.

“Team members feel confident, and see themselves making a higher percentage of shots,” Steve reports.

“Communication is confident and accurate, release is consistent, and we have been focusing on process and achievement.”

“Combined with the teams’ improved fitness levels, the focus on achievement of success for every shot sees the team playing with confidence.”
