Aussies are going for gold on Day 10 with Tom Slingsby and Michael Diamond well poised for the top of the podium.

Alana Boyd will fly the flag for the Australian team on Day 10 in the track and field. Boyd will compete in the women’s pole vault final and attempt to win gold.

Australian 400m runner Steve Solomon put on his own show by qualifying for the 400m Olympic final with a personal best of 44.97 seconds at just 19 years of age. He has become the first Australian Olympic 400m finalist since Darren Clark at Seoul 1988.

23-year-old Canberra hurdler Lauran Boden ran the best race of her European season and qualified for the semi-finals of the 400 metre hurdlers. Her fifth place and 56.27 seconds ended up being enough by 0.02s after an anxious wait.
