LILLEHAMMER 2016: Three Aussie athletes will be wearing the green and gold on Day 6 at Lillehammer 2016.

Cross country skiers Lilly Boland and Liam Burton will hit the snow in their final race of their Winter Youth Olympic Games campaign.

Boland will race in the 5km free while Burton will head out on the Birkenbeineren Cross Country Stadium course for the 10km free

“I’m very excited for the race,” said Boland. “It’s a distance race which is better for me than sprinting.”

The pair have gained a heap of experience at the home of the sport and will again be put to the test on the tough course.

“I trained on it on Wednesday and there are a lot of uphills and fast downhills. Those downhills could be fun or could end badly,” the Ulladulla based youngster said with a laugh.

The other Aussie athlete competing will be Katie Parker who hits Hafjell Olympic Slope for the last individual event of her program, the slalom.

Parker recorded two top 20 results in the Super G and Combined before getting a DNF in the giant slalom.

With many athletes now completed their competitions they are heading out to cheer on their fellow Aussies and also get involved in the Learn and Share program.

One element of the program is ‘Try the Sport’ where athletes can see how they go at their teammates sports. On Day 5 a host of Aussies joined ice hockey skills challenge athlete Madison Poole on an outdoor rink to have a skate and fire off some shots.
