Luke Deane and Brad Wall have finished in 21st and 22nd place in a FIS giant slalom in Turnau, Austria, with Deane the eighth fastest in the second run.

Luke Deane and Brad Wall have finished in 21st and 22nd place in a FIS giant slalom in Turnau, Austria, with Deane the eighth fastest in the second run.

Deane was 3.05 seconds behind race winner Matthias Lanziger of Austria, earning him 33.04 FIS points, with Wall a further .56 seconds back.

The Skiing Australia/New South Wales Institute of Sport team members took a two week break over Christmas-New Year, and will continue to ski in FIS and Europa Cup events in Europe over the next two months.

SAL/NSWIS downhill skier Jenny Owens is currently training with the Swiss team in Sion, and will race this weekend in World Cup downhill and super G in Veysonnaz.
