Diving - Oceania Championships
Olympic quota spots are on the line for our Australian divers this week at the 2023 Oceania Championships, from Thursday 30 November to Friday 1 December in Brisbane.
Australia’s eight-strong team will compete against their New Zealand counterparts over the two-day competition, with one Olympic quota spot available per individual event for the Paris 2024 Games.

On Friday from 11am AEDT Rio Olympian Brittany O’Brien will be one to watch in the women’s 3m springboard and Tokyo Olympian Sam Fricker in the men’s 10m platform.
Yesterday Nikita Hains and Shixin Li won the women’s 10m platform and men's 3m springboard events respectively. See full results here.

Following the Oceania Continental Championships, Diving Australia will hold its World Aquatics Championships Trials over four days from 3-6 December.

Boxing - Pacific Games
Winner of each Olympic division earns quota by name for Paris. Gold medal bouts on Friday and Saturday. Hold to until Thursday PM once semi-final results are through and finalists are confirmed.
The entire 13-strong Australian boxing team at the Pacific Games is just one fight away from Paris 2024 qualification, with each athlete progressing to the finals.
Harry Garside, Tina Rahimi, Yusuf Chothia, Shannan Davey and Teremoana Teremoana all won their semi-final bouts today in Honiara’s Friendship Hall, joining teammates Caitlin Parker, Monique Suraci, Tiana Echegaray, Marissa Williamson Pohlman, Tyla McDonald, Charlie Senior, Callum Peters and Adrian Paoletti in the finals.

The finals will be contested today and Saturday from 1pm AEDT. The Pacific Games acts as the Oceania continental Olympic qualification event for Boxing, with the winner of each Olympic weight class securing a quota by name for Paris 2024.

Rugby 7s - Rugby Sevens Series Dubai
The 2023-2024 World Rugby Sevens Series kicks off in Dubai this weekend.
Dual Olympians Sharni Smale and Charlotte Caslick will lead the women’s team against Brazil, Japan and Ireland on Saturday.
While Tokyo Olympians Maurice Longbottom, Nathan Lawson and Dietrich Roache will bring their expertise to the men’s side as they take on Ireland, Argentina and Spain over Saturday and Sunday.

Golf – Australian Open
Australia's top golfers will be put to the test at the Australia Open this weekend, from 30 November to 3 December.
For the second year in a row, both the men’s and women’s tournaments will be played at the same time, at two separate venues – The Australian Golf Course and The Lakes Golf Course. The final two rounds will all be played at The Australian, with the top 60-placed men and top 32 women advancing.

World no.5 Minjee Lee and world no. 24 Hannah Green are each eyeing off their first victory at the Australian Open, with both yet to take home the national title despite incredible success on the international tour.
In the men’s, Min Woo Lee will certainly be one to watch coming off a victory at last week’s Australian PGA tournament. Australia’s highest ranked player Cameron Smith will also be vying for his first Australian Open title.
