Triathlon – Triathlon World Cup
The Triathlon World Cup is coming to Australia this Saturday 20 April in Wollongong where 15 Aussies will contest the events.
Australia’s top-ranked triathlete Matt Hauser will be leading the charge in the men’s elite field and is joined by Tokyo 2020 Olympian Jake Birtwhistle, plus Commonwealth Games teammates Brandon Copeland and Luke Willian. Adding to the Aussie contingent is Callum McClusky, Oscar Dart, Bradley Course and Lachlan Jones.
In the women’s event Tokyo 2020 Olympian Emma Jeffcoat and Jaz Hedgeland will spearhead the course alongside Commonwealth Games triathletes Natalie van Coevorden, Charlotte McShane, plus rising stars Ellie Hoitink, Charlotte Derbyshire and debutant Tara Sosinski.
The event serves as a crucial test event for the 2025 World Triathlon Championship Finals also set to take place in Wollongong.

Football – Men’s U23 Asian Cup
The Olyroos are competing in the AFC U23 Asian Cup in Qatar until Friday 3 May, vying for their spot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
After a 0-0 draw to Jordan in the first round of the group stage, the Olyroos are set to compete against Indonesia today (Thursday 18 April) at 11pm AEST and Qatar on Monday 22 April at 1:30am AEST.
It is the final chance for the Olyroos to qualify for the Olympics. The top three teams will qualify for Paris with the fourth placed team entering a playoff against the fourth placed team from Africa’s confederation.

Shooting – Rifle & Pistol World Qualification Tournament
Aussie shooters are amidst their Olympic qualification tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for their final Olympic Qualification Championship, held until Saturday 20 April.
Quotas are on offer for each Olympic shooting discipline with countries eligible to qualify a maximum of two athletes in individual events and two teams in the mixed team events. One quota spot is on offer for each rifle and pistol event on the programme, with the top ranked eligible finisher earning a quota for their country.

Diving – World Aquatics 2024 Diving World Cup Super Final
The World Aquatics 2024 Diving World Cup is set to wrap up with the highly-anticipated Super Final in Xi’an, China with the Australian Team hoping to continue their recent medal winning ways when competition starts on Friday through Sunday.
The team will be spearheaded by Anabelle Smith and Maddison Keeney who picked up the 3m springboard synchro silver medal at the World Championships earlier this year, along with 2023 10m platform world champion Cassiel Rousseau.
Ten Australian athletes will be in action at the Super Final, with a strong blend of youth and experience across the team.

Swimming – Australian Open Championships
From Wednesday to Saturday more than 800 athletes will converge on Gold Coast Aquatic Centre, with Australia’s elite looking to build on their campaign for Olympic Team nomination.
The meet is part of the Dolphins runway into the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games but will also feature aspiring LA 2028 Olympians and Paralympians.

Artistic Gymnastics – FIG Apparatus World Cup 2024
The FIG Apparatus World Cup 2024 continues until Saturday 20 April in Doha, Qatar with Australia’s James Bacueti being the highest placed Aussie, currently sitting in 3rd position in the men’s vault going into the competition.
The two highest ranked athletes from each apparatus will earn their country a quota spot for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Hockey – International Festival of Hockey
Following the Kookaburras 5-0 Test series win against India, the Hockeyroos are ready for a series starting with Japan and China in Perth this weekend.
They’re set to match up against Japan on Saturday 20 April and China on Sunday 21 April.

Modern Pentathlon – UIPM World Cup
Three Australian modern pentathletes are competing in Ankara, Turkey until Sunday 21 April as part of the UIPM World Cup series.
Flying the Australian flag will be Genevieve Janse van Rensburg, Rhys Lanskey and Tim Oliver.

Athletics – Diamond League
The first leg of the 2024 Diamond League kicks off this Saturday 20 April in Xiamen, China with many Aussies competing in the 15-part series.
Olympians Peter Bol (men’s 800m), Ellie Beer (women’s 400m), Stewart McSweyn
(men’s 5000m), Jack Rayner (men’s 5000m) and Linden Hall (women’s 1500m) will
compete in their respective events.
Other Aussies in competition are Australia’s fastest woman Torrie Lewis (women’s
200m), Matthew Ramsden (men’s 5000m), Cara Feain-Ryan (women’s steeplechase),
with Georgia Griffith and Sarah Billings in the women’s 1500m.

Surfing – WSL World Championship Tour
The WSL World Championship Tour is currently in Western Australia for the Margaret River Pro.
The competition continues through to Sunday 21 April, with nine Aussies still in contention including Tokyo 2020 Olympian Sally Fitzgibbons, Tyler Wright, India Robinson, Molly Picklum, Jack Robinson, Ethan Ewing, Liam O’Brien and George Pittar.

Archery – World Cup
Eight recurve archers and five compound archers are competing in Shanghai, China for the first stage of the 2024 World Cup from Tuesday 23 April to Sunday 28 April.
Ryan Tyack, Peter Boukouvalas, Kane Wilson and Jai Crawley are in the men's recurve competition. Laura Paeglis, Sarah Haywood, Kim Lavender and Laura Trezise represent Australia in the women's recurve.
